Frequently Asked Questions
What is the IP I need to connect to in Soku?
When I try to make a room, it says something is blocking my inbound connection
- Either your router or your firewall is blocking Soku Lobby from receiving data
- Make sure that your inbound port is correct on the login form (Click the Advanced button)
- Configure your router for port forwarding and unblock Soku Lobby on your firewall
How do I port forward (my inbound connection is blocked)
- Visit Portforward.com – find your router on the page and follow the instructions.
I keep getting “Connection Failed” when I connect to the lobby
- Make sure you are connecting to 127.0.0.1:30800
- Make sure there are no other Soku Lobby processes running (look in the processes tab in Task Manager)
- You must use Hisoutensoku v1.10a with the latest version of SWR
- Unblock Hisoutensoku and Soku Lobby on your firewall
- Do not run either Hisoutensoku or Soku Lobby as an administrator
Why is the relay so slow?
- When you use the relay, the game must send data to New Jersey, then to your opponent – and the same route for your opponent.
- Avoid using the relay when possible by port forwarding.
It locked up, how do I leave?
Every time I try to join or create a room, it says “Please connect Soku before continuing”
- Do what it says
- Open Soku (if you haven’t already) and go to “Network”
- Select the second option “Assign IP/Port and Connect to Server”
- Enter the IP 127.0.0.1:30800
When I connect Soku to the lobby, it hangs on “Connecting…”
- This is supposed to happen. At this point, go create or join a room.
I’ve hosted a room, but nobody can connect
- Make sure Soku Lobby is unblocked on your firewall and your ports are forwarded
- Before you login, click “Advanced” and make sure you inbound port is correct
Do I need to forward port 30800?
- No, you only need to forward your inbound port (which is typically 10800).
Things are grayed out, or ___ doesn’t do anything when I click it
- It isn’t implemented yet, that means it doesn’t work
English or Japanese Soku? Vanilla Soku or soku+ ?
- English or Japanese, it doesn’t matter. Both of them work.
- soku+ has been crudely tested. It somewhat works only if both players have it. Desyncs are likely.
I registered a long time ago, can I still use that username?
- Typically, yes. On occasion, old accounts are removed from the server.
I forgot my username/password
- Email me your old name and some sort of proof that you are the owner
- Include the new password that you want to use
The location it says in my profile isn’t right!
- Click the flag next to your location and enter the correct location.
When I start the program, all the boxes are grayed out.
- The server is down, wait for it to come back up.
How do I disable that annoying beep when someone says something?
- Change to the tab that is making noise
- Go to “Room Settings” and uncheck “Room Notifications”
Wow, this is cool, but I’d really like to see ___ added
- You can email me feature requests, I consider suggestions unless they’re absurd.
What do I do if I find a bug?
- Click the “Report Bug” button and enter the problem with details
I have another problem or question not mentioned here
- Contact me by email or by chat (in Soku Lobby) or via IM
- Contact one of the moderators (they have green icons in Soku Lobby)

Maiku, I reinstalled Soku Lobby and now it’s saying “Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor.” Do you have anything how to fix this? Sorry if this is the wrong place post this. I have no idea what your email address is.

Uninstall the program completely. Then go into C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local and delete the Apps folder. Try to reinstall after that.

I can’t seem to properly install soku lobby. I had it on my machine before re-formatting,but now,i can’t install it. I download the setup, run it, and after some KBs have been downloaded,it stops for a while, then tells me that the download did not succeed, and tells me to check my connection. I already added it as a exception to my firewall, tried installing several times, downloaded the setup from different places, including this site, but still,no joy.
I’m running it on winXP SP3,already got the latest .net framework. I really want it to work, since i love playing hisoutensoku :\

I didn’t make that installer, so I can’t say what’s wrong. There’s been some updates, so you might want to just try downloading it again.
